FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Straight Answers, No Sales Pitch

How the concierge works, what it costs, how we make money and who it’s for — everything golfers usually ask before their first request.

What exactly does GolfConnecting do?

We’re a golf concierge, directory and magazine. Tell us what you’re looking for — a course worth the green fee, a trip, a coach, the right equipment, an event — and we research it and come back with a personal shortlist. Around that sit our directory of golf businesses and thirty practical guides in the Insights magazine.

How does “Ask the Golf Concierge” work?

You send your request through the Ask the Concierge form — where you want to play, budget, dates, handicap, whatever matters. A real golfer reads it, researches your options and replies with a shortlist and honest reasoning, normally within one working day. No automated matching, no call centre.

What does it cost?

You’ll always know where you stand before spending anything. Much of our work is funded by partners — commissions and clearly labelled featured placements — so straightforward recommendations usually cost you nothing beyond the provider’s normal price. Larger bespoke work, like planning a multi-stop golf trip, is quoted and agreed before we start. Full detail in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Do paying partners get better recommendations?

No. Featured placement buys visibility in the directory — always labelled — never a spot on your shortlist. We regularly recommend courses, coaches and products we have no commercial relationship with, and a weak service can’t buy a good word from us. Our recommendations only stay valuable if you can trust them.

Which countries do you cover?

Our strongest ground knowledge is the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, continental Europe and Australia — built on nearly two decades of playing across America and Europe. For other destinations we research case by case and tell you honestly when something is outside our depth.

Can you book tee times, trips or lessons for me?

We research, shortlist and introduce — then you book and pay the provider directly at their normal price, so your contract and consumer protections sit with them. Where a partner offers a booking link or code, we pass it on. What we don’t do is stand between you and the provider taking a cut of your bill.

What level of golfer is this for?

All of them. Beginners get plain-English guidance without the jargon; travelling golfers get destination and logistics help; low handicappers get sharper questions answered — equipment fitting, competitive events, coaching specialisms. The guides are organised by subject so you can start wherever you are.

How fast do you reply?

Within one working day, Monday to Friday — usually faster. If your request is time-sensitive, say so in the message and we’ll prioritise it.

I own a golf business — how do I get listed?

Start on the List Your Business page. Basic directory listings are editorially reviewed and free to submit; featured placement and partner options are explained there too. Courses, coaches, fitters, simulators, resorts, tour operators and brands are all welcome.

How do you make money?

Three ways, all disclosed: affiliate commissions when you buy or book through some links (at no extra cost to you), clearly labelled featured placements in the directory, and referral fees from partners we introduce clients to. The full picture is in our Affiliate Disclosure — and our Disclaimer covers the rest of the small print.
