Accessibility Statement

This page explains what GolfConnecting has done to make golfconnecting.com usable with screen readers, keyboards and magnification, where we know it still falls short, and how to tell us when something is in your way. Our commitment

GolfConnecting wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, switch devices or voice control.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We are not claiming perfection — we are telling you what we aim for, what we have done, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us when you hit a barrier.

This statement applies to golfconnecting.com. It does not cover other websites we link to, or tools and documents supplied by third parties, which are dealt with in section 4.

What we have done

• Colour contrast — text is checked against its background to meet AA contrast ratios, including text placed over photographs.
• Keyboard navigation — every link, button, menu and form can be reached and operated without a mouse, and the element you are on has a visible focus outline.
• Semantic structure — one main heading per page, headings in order, landmarks and labelled navigation so screen readers can move through a page sensibly.
• Meaningful alternatives — images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Forms — every field has a visible label, required fields are identified in text, and error messages say what needs fixing rather than relying on colour alone.
• Link text — links describe where they go rather than saying “click here”.
• Reduced motion — animations and hover effects are switched off automatically if your system asks for reduced motion.
• Responsive text — pages reflow and remain readable when text is enlarged to 200% or viewed on a small screen, without sideways scrolling.

How we check

This statement is based on our own assessment of the site rather than an external audit. We use automated checks alongside manual testing — navigating pages by keyboard alone, reading them with a screen reader, and viewing them at 200% zoom and on a phone — and we re-check pages when their content, layout or imagery changes.

The most recent review of this website was carried out in August 2026.

Known limitations

Being honest is more useful than claiming full compliance. The areas we know about are:

• Third-party content — some content and tools we embed (the concierge and enquiry forms, embedded maps or video, and font delivery) are provided by other companies. We choose providers with accessibility in mind, but their code is outside our direct control.
• Older documents — PDFs and downloads published before this statement may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Ask and we will supply the content in another format.
• Testing coverage — we have tested with automated tools and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, but not with every assistive technology in every browser combination.
• Directory listings — course and provider details are supplied by the businesses themselves, and not every listing photograph carries a descriptive alternative text yet. Tell us which listing and we will add it.

Where we know something falls short, we would rather fix it than describe it. If you find something not listed here, please tell us — reports genuinely help.

Using this site

A few things that may help:

• Text size — use your browser’s zoom (Ctrl and + on Windows, Cmd and + on a Mac) up to 200%. The layout reflows rather than clipping.
• Keyboard — press Tab to move forward through links and controls, Shift and Tab to move back, and Enter or Space to activate.
• Cookies — the cookie banner and the Cookie Settings link in the footer can be operated by keyboard, and declining non-essential cookies does not affect how the site works for you.
• Contact — if you would rather not use a form, you can email or telephone us directly using the details in section 9.

Legal position

The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025. It sets accessibility requirements for certain digital products and services, with a threshold that generally exempts microenterprises — organisations with fewer than 10 staff and turnover or balance sheet under 2 million euro. In Ireland it is given effect by the European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023.

We publish this statement as good practice rather than because we are asserting a particular classification. Our aim is that the standard is met regardless of whether we are obliged to meet it.

Tell us about a barrier

If you cannot use part of this site, please tell us. Say what you were trying to do, which page you were on, which browser and device you were using, and what assistive technology you use if you are comfortable sharing that.

If you need information from this site in another format — larger print, plain text, or a description of an image or map — ask and we will provide it.

If we do not get it right

If our reply does not resolve the problem, say so and ask for it to be looked at again — your message reaches a person, not a ticket queue. We would rather hear that we have missed something twice than not at all.

We review this statement whenever the site changes significantly, and at least once a year.
