The Happy Gilmore Nearest The Pin Challenge. Ahead of this week’s Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, we challenged European Tour pros at The Renaissance Club to take on a nearest-the-pin challenge with a difference. Two words… Happy Gilmore.

At the 2013 Scottish Open at Castle Stuart, some of the world’s finest golfers attempted the distinctive swing made famous in Adam Sandler’s 1996 golf comedy. The results were mixed… Six years on, we decided that just taking on the swing wasn’t quite hard enough. So we took over the driveable, par four fourth hole at the East Lothian venue and asked them to hole it. Simple, right…?
